Elaine F. Wang is a resident partner in our Washington D.C. office. She graduated from China University of Political Science and Law with a LL.B. degree and then obtained a LL.M. degree from New York University School of Law. She is licensed in NY and DC.
For the last twenty years, Elaine’s practice has focused exclusively on international trade and customs matters. Elaine provides strategic advice and representation to foreign manufacturers, exporters, and U.S. importers before the DOC and CBP in complex trade and customs cases.
Elaine focuses on trade remedy proceedings (antidumping and countervailing duty), and has been involved in most of the antidumping cases the firm has handled since 2003, including cases against China, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Malaysia et. al. Although Elaine is not the listed lead attorney for the cases, she is actually the main attorney working on the cases and is the key person for the success of many cases. Elaine is a native Chinese speaker who has extensive experience in assisting our Chinese clients in international trade and custom matters, including agricultural, industrial and consumer products. Elaine has been deeply rooted in international trade and customs matters, and has rich hands-on experience. She always provides strategic and valuable advice to clients well in advance so that a lot of issues and problems are avoided for the clients. In recent years, she represented leading solar companies in antidumping proceedings and anticircumvention proceedings and obtained remarkable results. Elaine also worked on customs matters related to duty-saving strategies, classification, country of origin, customs audit, UFLPA, and the Enforce and Protect Act (EAPA). She has worked on many UFLPA cases and successfully obtained release of the detained goods from CBP for clients. Elaine also worked on trade remedy cases before the U.S. International Trade Commission, and in litigation before the U.S. Court of International Trade.
