On April 24, 2025, Ferroglobe USA, Inc. and Mississippi Silicon LLC filed a petition for the imposition of antidumping and countervailing duties on the imports of Silicon Metal from Angola, Australia, Laos, Norway, and Thailand. The petition alleges a dumping margin of 67.78%* and 323.84%** (Angola), 337.84% (Australia), 92%* and 304.51%** (Laos), and 69.15% (Norway). The petition identifies certain foreign producers/exporters and U.S. importers of the investigated product.
The products subject to these investigations are all forms and sizes of silicon metal, including silicon metal powder. Silicon metal contains at least 85.00 percent but less than 99.99 percent silicon, and less than 4.00 percent iron, by actual weight. The projected date of the International Trade Commission’s Preliminary Conference is May 15, 2025. The earliest theoretical date for retroactive suspension of liquidation for AD is July 3, 2025; CVD is May 14, 2025.
