Petitions Filed Requesting the Imposition of Antidumping and Countervailing Duties on Imports of Disposable Aluminum Containers, Pans, and Trays from the People’s Republic of China

Case Summary

On May 16, 2024, the Aluminum Foil Container Manufacturers Association and Certain of its Individual Member Companies filed a petition for the imposition of antidumping and countervailing duties on the imports of Disposable Aluminum Containers, Pans, and Trays Imported from China. The petition alleges dumping margins ranging from 118.0% to 265.3%. The petition identifies certain foreign producers/exporters and U.S. importers of the investigated product.

The merchandise covered by these investigations are disposable aluminum containers, pans, and trays produced primarily from flat-rolled aluminum. The subject merchandise includes disposable aluminum containers, pans, and trays regardless of shape or size and whether or not wrinkled or smooth, as well as aluminum lids intended to be used in combination with disposable containers produced from aluminum or other materials (e.g., paper or plastic).  The petition provides additional detailed scope description and specific product exclusions.

The projected date of International Trade Commission’s Preliminary Conference is June 6, 2024. The earliest theoretical date for retroactive suspension of liquidation for AD is July 25, 2024; CVD is June 5, 2024.
