Kavita Mohan is an Of Counsel in the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Kavita has almost 20 years of experience handling a wide range of complex legal and policy international trade matters. As a seasoned litigator and member of the Trade Group’s litigation team, Kavita has helped obtain multiple favorable and precedent-setting decisions at the Court of International Trade and Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She has successfully represented importers, producers, and governments at all stages of antidumping (AD) and countervailing (CVD) duty proceedings before the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission. Kavita also frequently advises clients on scope and anti-circumvention issues, and has obtained scope exclusions on products across multiple industries.
Prior to joining GDLSK, Kavita was an Associate at Baker & Hostetler, where her practice focused on international trade and commercial litigation. Kavita started her career at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. She first served as an Analyst conducting AD/CVD investigations and reviews. She later served as an India Desk Officer, advocating on behalf of U.S. companies facing market barriers in India and engaging with policy makers inside and outside the government – including senior U.S. and Indian government officials, senior corporate representatives, and trade associations – to develop and execute U.S. trade policy with India.
Kavita was selected to the 2023 Washington D.C. Super Lawyers list. Each year, no more than five percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Kavita was previously selected as a Washington, D.C., “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2019. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected to the “Rising Star” list.

Kavita has been a Vice-Chair of the South Asia and Oceania Committee (formerly the India Committee) of the American Bar Association since 2012, and has served as the Committee’s Editor for the annual Year-In-Review publication since 2014. Kavita also previously served as Editor-in-Chief for India Law News, a quarterly publication of the Committee.
