Maria Teresa Vanikiotis


Maria Vanikiotis is an Associate in the Firm’s office in New York City. She began her career with GDLSK as an intern in the summer of 2014. Her practice is focused on customs and trade law. Ms. Vanikiotis has assisted in a variety of matters related to the facilitation of importations into the United States, including the classification of merchandise under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, first sale appraisement programs, antidumping duties, and regulatory issues involving the Fish and Wildlife Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Food and Drug Administration. Prior to joining GDLSK, Ms. Vanikiotis was employed as a summer associate in the Brussels office of a large international law firm on matters related to antitrust and competition law within the European Union.


As a law student, Ms. Vanikiotis published a student note comparing collective action approaches to antitrust cases in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, for which she won an award for outstanding legal writing. Also, she was an active and accomplished member of both the Fordham International Law Journal and Dispute Resolution Society.
