Laurence M. Friedman is a partner in the New York Office. Mr. Friedman has extensive experience practicing before U.S. government agencies responsible for the administration and enforcement of international trade and customs laws. Mr. Friedman routinely represents companies in connection with customs audits, valuation, tariff classification, product admissibility, intellectual property, eligibility under Free Trade Agreements, complex customs investigations, origin inquiries, exclusions, seizures, penalty and liquidated damages assessments. He has also assisted clients with their applications and participation in the Importer Self Assessment Program and Customs-Trade partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT). He also helps companies develop internal compliance programs.
