Payment of Broker Permit User Fee Due January 20, 2012

As a reminder, the Customs broker user fee of $138 for each permit (local and national) is due on Friday, January 20, 2012.

At one local Customs Broker Association meeting this week, Customs advised that a large number of permit holders had not yet paid the user fee at that port. The failure to pay the fee timely will cause the permit to be revoked by operation of law. Customs recently published a long list of such permits that were revoked by operation of law.
